Search engine optimization does not stop at how well you chose your keywords, or how methodically and artfully you weaved them into your page copy. It’s more than making sure your keyword is in there enough times to make it known that that is your phrase but not enough to get a slap from Google.
Search engine optimization also requires a hefty amount of off page SEO. Now there are lots of opinions on how to do this. This diagram I made is a roughy and a starting point. Feel free to evolve your strategy any way you want if you know how to, but there are lots of people out there starting sites who have no idea so I wanted to let them in on what I have learned through hard knocks as well as from people I personally know who are crushing Google page #1.
For example, you can also embed your videos on your other Web 2.0 blogs as well as on your main page, even though I didn’t draw any arrows to imply that in the diagram. None of this is set in stone and you’re always a Google update away from having to rethink strategy.
That being said, Google and the other search engines know that we have to promote and syndicate our sites – anyone does, in order to get them out there and build some starting back links. It’s just a must.
I hope that this little search engine optimization how to and Off page SEO primer helps out.
